Confirm the current collection week

Macon-Bibb Solid Waste says Ryland collects yard debris every other week on the normal garbage day and offers an address map. Check the schedule for the exact home before planning a curb pile. A storm or service change may alter ordinary collection.

Do not rely on an old rule without checking

A 2016 Macon-Bibb article advised cutting large limbs to 4-foot lengths, separating them from bagged leaves and requesting special pickup for a pile over a pickup-truck load. That article predates Ryland’s current service; treat it as historical context, not a current promise. The current page displays an acceptance infographic that must be checked with Solid Waste for a large tree job.

Specify what the tree company removes

Get a written list for logs, branches, brush, chips and stump. Ask whether the crew hauls them, leaves chipped material, stacks logs at an agreed location, or expects the county service to collect. Put any extra truckload, disposal fee or second trip in the quote.

Keep the public road separate from the yard

Macon-Bibb Public Works handles city and county roads; state roads have a different owner. Do not drag storm debris into a road or approach a tree tangled with a wire. Report an immediate hazard through emergency services and the serving utility before private cleanup.

Will Ryland collect tree-service debris in Macon?

The current Macon-Bibb yard-waste page says Ryland collects yard debris every other week but does not, in its text, settle the eligibility of a contractor’s whole-tree pile. Ask Solid Waste or Ryland about the specific material, size and source before agreeing to a leave-at-curb quote. A crew-haul option avoids that uncertainty.
